Firstly, understanding the term. Branding is a word often used by designers, advertisers and marketers, but what does it actually mean? Branding is a collective term that encompasses a range of things. A brand is not a logo but your logo is part of your brand.
What is brand?
The perceived emotional corporate image as a whole.
What is identity?
The visual aspects that form part of the overall brand.
What is a logo?
A logo identifies a business in its simplest form using a mark or icon, text styling etc.
Good, strong branding will remain with your customers and they are more likely to remember your business and return to you in the future. More importantly, a strong company image will remain in the mind of potential customers - it is all about having a strong visual presence in the market place. A branded business is more likely to be seen as experienced in their products or services, and will generally be seen as more reliable and trustworthy than an unbranded business. It also provides an image of size and establishment, which can be especially important when a customer wants reassurance that you will still be around in a few years time.
